CP-2203 Small Block Ford V8 Engine Mounting kit for 1935-1940 Ford

This kit fits 1965-up small block Ford V8 into 1935-1940 solid axle Ford car or pick up.

This kit includes:

Installation Instructions for CP-2203 Ford Small Block V8 (1965+) Engine Swap Kit for 1935-1940 Ford Car using original front crossmember.

 

1. Install frame corner reinforcements between lower frame rail and crossmember flange as shown. Space level with washers. Can also be welded in. Caution: do not omit!

2. Install transmission kit as per instructions included with the kit.

3. Remove original steering mount from frame by drilling out rivets and breaking spot welds.

4. Install steering adapter (if used). Follow instructions included with the adapter.

5. Place straight-edge laid even with the top front of the frame to locate the mounts locations. Install frame adapters.

Clamp in place and drill mounting holes. Drill bottom holes through frame and adapters. Make sure adapters are straight and level and positioned correctly before drilling.

 

Follow this sequence when installing mounting kit:

1. Install transmission mount.

2. Locate engine mounts and clamp in place.

3. Locate steering adapter position and drill holes.

4. Install engine mounts and lift engine into place.

5. Check L.H. manifold and clearance steering gear as necessary (see steering adapter instructions).

 

Special Instructions:

1. Engine must be equiped with a Bronco type oil pan or the original must be cut to clear.

2. L.H. exhaust manifold is a 1970-74 Bronco unit. Part #455 for salvage yard reference.

3. Check for clearance between oil pan and tie rod.
